Maphar, a sanofi-aventis Group company, wins the National Award for Safety at Work Print

Maphar, a sanofi-aventis Group company, has won the National Award for Safety at Work, 2009 in the "Large manufacturing enterprises" category.

This award was presented by Mr. Ahmed Reda Chami, Minister for Industry, Trade and New Technologies, to Mr. Christopher Gourlet, CEO of sanofi-aventis Morocco and Maphar, at a ceremony in Rabat on January 21, 2009.

This ceremony was held at the Ministry for Industry, Trade and New Technologies in the presence of representatives of many government agencies (Ministry for Employment and Vocational Training, etc), professional bodies (General Confederation of Morocco Businesses; the Moroccan Quality Union, etc.) and the media.

This government initiative forms part of the effort to prevent industrial risks and encourage businesses to implement safety management systems and comply with current standards.
The Ministry sent out audit teams of national experts and safety consultants to audit the safety systems of participating corporate sites.

After inspecting the Industrial Affairs site in Zenata, the organizers attributed the National Safety at Work Award 2009 to Maphar.

The sanofi-aventis Group operates in Morocco through two subsidiaries, Sanofi-aventis Morocco and Maphar. This award confirms its position as a leader, and reinforces its image of quality and seriousness with its wider business environment.
